A band, no strangers to The Skeptics Review are Frozen Sand and this time we have a whole new track and a wicked music video to go with it ! Remember to search for their other material here on TSR or be sure to contact Frozen Sand on Facebook and Twitter and give them your support !

Here we have a new single entitled "Fracture" from Frozen Sand. It's a bit of a 2-in-1 here today with a review of both the song and the music video. Let's start with the song shall we?

To start off, the guitarist has this sweet riff going with strings bending as part of this distinct sound. Very catchy ! The drummer and bassist really keep the backbone of this song in tact with solid strength and punch with amazing time signature changes. It's something you can really head-bang to. At about 50 seconds, the vocalist comes in strong with his rough vocalizing technique, and goes to nice and clear vocals during the chorus. The combination of the aggressive vocals and harmonies blend smoothly to give a type of metal meets melodic feel. You can tell that Frozen Sand have grown musically since our last article. You can listen to their passion and determination in their style of both playing and singing. Pressing on to the bridge, the music gets really harmonic and the bass guitar moves up the scale along with the guitars that give an amazing element! I also got into the vibe when the vocals slowly intensify and get stronger as the song nears the end. Then, the song closes to a sudden stop with slight, subtle ringing from the guitars and bass. Pretty cool.

Now let's talk about the video. Throughout this video, it's mainly showing the band performing this song, which is awesome because it's basically the first time most of us get to see these guys in action. You see their instruments and how they use them. It's a good visual for the fans. The video has close ups of the guitars and basses at perfect moments. Watching the drummer add visual elements with his sticks as he's drumming proves, killer ! From the instruments, to the clothing, Frozen Sand are naturals in front of the camera ! Aside from these guys performing this song, there are hints and clips of a story line along with it. What I could gather was someone struggling with mental and physical deterioration and his struggle with meds to control said deterioration. All in all, a great video, nice show put on by the band, and a rough back-story to run right with the lyrics.

I'm excited, because of this song and video. Frozen Sand have a good grasp of the sound they want and they continue to grow and mature on it. I will be waiting for the full-length record that's next, and will definitely ask for a copy seeing how these guys are sounding. We will most definitely keep you posted. Keep it rocking fellas!
