At first listen, we know that these singers can in fact stand alone and create great music. But it is when combining the incredible harmonies in the chorus that stands above many duets we listen to nowadays. Not only do they compliment each other vocally, but you feel a sense of chemistry in these two love birds. Married and going strong, on and off the microphone, are Keifer and Shawna Thompson who have been growing steadily for a decade now. They keep the evolution of country music in their favor. Country music fans know of George and Tammy, Kenny and Dolly, and I'm listening to the next great male/female duo in these. Already recognized as the Vocal Duo of the Year by the ACM, this track is an addition to their already growing list of hits and yet another reason why you should add this to your collection !
Off of their album Just Feels Right, Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About is an upbeat love song for all. It's simple and to the point. Too much to do, and you can only concentrate on one. The first verse has Keifer singing of mending a fence, painting the house and tending to his motorcycle but can't seem to focus, or care for that matter.
When the chorus kicks in, the two share the harmony and it's a smooth, sweet melody.
Second verse has Shawna belting out a few notes in such a sexy tone that sings back to her husband that she too feels the same.
The two which make Thompson Square (Thompson x Thompson = Thompson Square) are an amazing duo that continue to grow and are showing their love of country music and each other into their music. This is a MUST have track in your country music library. Keep your ears opened as these two continue their growth in country music. Be sure to check them out on tour as well, as they've just taken off a little over a month ago. All details can be found at www.thompsonsquare.com.
On a side note, we'd like to wish Keifer a very special and belated Happy Birthday !!!
